Death of A Marker

So the other day I was sitting at my desk sketching and caught a glimpse of my favorite marker with the cap hanging off. I caught it in time to save it and was reminded of the many times I’d been too late. I’ve lost many good pens and markers due to caps gone missing or loose. My horror is always that first moment when you know you just lost the cap and have no choice but to leave it out to die… I’d rather just not know. Friends, I post this to raise awareness of unnecessary marker death. Beware and be cautious.

I always joke about ruining good sketchbooks. A girl has to practice! I’ve downgraded to typing paper and newsprint for my warm up sketches and scribbles but in the meantime, Ill pour one out for the brave souls of the high quality sketchbooks that have laid down their lives for my pursuit of artistic growth…

I’m not sure what kind of excuse this is, the more I draw, the more ideas come to me. It’s sort of a catch twenty two, I can’t be inspired unless I start creating but I can’t create unless Im inspired! But seriously, this really did happen to me the other day…

Loose Paper

Anyone who has a cat knows you can never leave paper, envelopes, rubber bands, books, or anything else you love just lying around on a table or desk. I might try storing my supplies in the cats bed since thats the only place she wont sleep…

Excuses, Excuses

Good old fashioned laziness! I find I get a little too comfortable not in front of the T.V. but rather in front of the computer. If Im not aware, I get submerged in the world of Facebook, Youtube, and Netflix. These are good things but they should be rewards enjoyed after a day of hard work.

Lately, I’ve been struggling with illustrating. My struggle is subject matter. When you illustrate, you tell a story on a page but alas, I am void of ideas then it dawned on me… 101 excuses why I don’t draw everyday! My first excuse has always been I cant think of a single thing to draw.
